Is UK universites the hotbeds of extremism?

I am not sure how much you are interest in this issue...

As you know, Last Christmas an airplane would be bombed by a suicide bomber, who studied at UCL.
So someone claims UK university system encourage extremism...

I don't know and very not sure about this claim... What do you think?
