Long Time No see...
I haven't written so many articles. Oh dear:(...

Before start my last minutes postings, I have this question.

Are we active or passive subject on this forum?

It would be true your postings on here were based on your personal stance not others' one.

However, sometimes I felt I would post here by obligation, which is 6 posting rule.

Okay, It's a extremely lazy guy's stupid question.
But Just curious...

Good question.
I believe we are both active and passive by posting on this forum ( if that is possible ).
We are active in the way we seek to achieve a certain criteria, but passive in the way that we have to do it.
However I feel inclined to reply to some posts, not because I have to but because they interest me. I am passive in the way that I do not seek out the forum independently but active once I am in the forum and replying to things I am enthusiastic about.

I agree with aj89. We are passive at first thoughts because we have been told that we have to post our opinions and thoughts onto this site. However, we are only doing active things that we would do in normal every day life but in a more academic style. Every day we voice our opinions, be it just to our friends, on blogs or actually writing to magazines and newspapers. These kind of processes make us very active in society. To make it more active we are anonymous therefore we feel that we can be more honest and truthful without it leading back to us. In light of this I believe the active part is more dominant.

Yes, I also agree with that I am both active and passive subject. I am an active subject because I am willing to use the forum to extend my understanding on the topic which we discussed in the lecture. It also helps a lot on my essay. When I feel I had trouble on my essay these days, I went on to the forum to see other students ideas. Then I will get inspiration on my essay. As an passive subject that I really do not like posting things on line. Even on the facebook, I also do not post   anything on it....Here, I was forced to post at least 6 posts. In this case, I become an passive subject.

It is a really realistic question to be posed on. I also agree with aj89, we are both active and passive by posting on this forum,
from my point of view, sometimes I feel a bit contradictory about this, because I found the process of reading questions and others' comments interesting, but other times just feeling that it is part of my marks, therefore I got to post something. therefore, the process of posting is active, but the mental of individual might be passive.

I also agree with aj89 in that we are both active and passive subjects on this forum. For me, I am passive because I know that I have to get on to the forum and I have to post a certain number to meet the module’s criteria. However, I find that when I start to read the posts and start engaging in the discussions and that feeling of ‘I must do it’ fades away and starts becoming something I want to do—it is in this way that I am active.

i would argue that we are passive subject when writing in this forum. we are obligated to write 6 posts in order to ensure that our grade is maintained. if i had a choice i would not write on such a forum. our seminar discussions provide me with more in depth understanding. Similarly i would argue that because we have to write something as a response to certain topics, we are not able to express ourselves freely. Our own opinions are bound by that of the theorist of whim we are writing about.

I feel quite passive on this forum, again like most people I write on here becuase of the course requirements. A lot of posts on here don't relate to each other, its not a flowing converstation rather than just everyone putting forward there opinions. I'm not active because I don't really engage in much conversation but at the same time i'm not that passive because I'm not being influenced by the forum either.

i think we are both active and passive. We are active because we must actively interact in the forum, whether it be out of interest or simply to get the marks for the assessment. We are passive because we do not control what others say and a conversation may go down a different path than we would want .

I do agree with everyone that postings on this forum makes us passive and active at the same time, but I also think that it depends on the person, for example, I'm not really into blogs and forums, therefore I write here only because I obliged to which makes me passive. At the same time I do not put just random posts but choose topics that interest me and information that I agree or disagree with which I think makes me active in a way.

The obvious answer is that we are active when replying to a poste or making notes about other comments, however there are lots of thing on this forum that we read and see that we do no register. I feel we are more active  than passive as we go to this site for a perticular thing.

Thanks to you who replied this silly question.

When I asked this question, I taught why this forum is made and how is should work.
As personal belief, I wish to be the active user  of this forum but I am not, who does last-minutes posting.

I believe Federica and module leader (C*****) might be happy because quite many good student answered, 'I would be active subject on (even most of us mentioned  as half active (?)) user of this forum' :D

Good Luck Guys! It would be my final posting!

I wouldn't call it a silly question Ji-Ho, I think you make a valid point.

I am quite an active user of forums like this, however I do find myself passively posting on this forum to just get up to the 6 needed.  I do think that as many people post on this forum as a matter of obligation, it loses something that other forums possess.

I also think that as we are all generally aware of who each other is, we hold back in a way from posting things that we may do in a more "anonymous" forum.
