In houses or school accomodation,  the walls seperate different rooms are thin, it is easily to hear what and who is speaking in the next room.
But it may not verifiable that if the housemate/ flatmate is in the room. So we would automatically behave well, not speaking loudly or talk about the private issue.

I think Panopticon is good for training self discipline but the anxiety of unverifiable is not good for the mental health.
